'U CAME 2 MY SCHOOL 7 YEARS AGO'
By Bayana Chunga in Blantyre, Malawi

Wame Charles Kalua (on the picture) was  a student at Soche Hill Secondary School  in 2006 when Wings of Hope Ministry visited his School to talk about sex, God and HIV/AIDS.  Classes were cancelled that afternoon to allow all of the students to attend the Wings of Hope presentation. The auditorium was packed with students and among those hundreds of students was Wame Charles Kalua whose life was never the same after the visit.

This week Wame, out of the blues, sent this message in my Facebook inbox :

"I don't know if you remember but you came at our school Soche Hill in 2006 with your  beautiful wife and a Polytechnic student who was positively living with HIV/AIDS.  You preached and I gave my life to Christ but I didn't know what to do with Him... but the seed you planted got watered with God and here I am witnessing to fellow youths!"

This message is among several messages that are slowly trickling in from students who we reached out under the High School Ministry Campaign which was born around 2004 with the help of Community United Methodist Church in Half Moon Bay California.

Since then Wings of Hope has visited about 50 Secondary Schools in Malawi. Since last year, Wings of Hope has partnered with The Parables a Malawian born Christian theatrical group to produce a High School tailored production The Last Song which has already been showcased to three high schools around Blantyre area.

150 students have already given their lives to God in the three respective schools visits and funds permitting this play will tour more schools around the country winning souls for Kingdom of God.
